Beginning his career in the 1970s, Jagathy quickly became indispensable for his impeccable timing, improvisational genius, and ability to steal scenes. He was equally at ease in slapstick, satire, drama, and villainous roles. His iconic films include Kilukkam (1991), In Harihar Nagar (1990), Yodha (1992), Mimics Parade (1991), Kalyanaraman (2002), Meesa Madhavan (2002), CID Moosa (2003), Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu (1986), Udayananu Tharam (2005), and Katha Parayumbol (2007). Over his five decade long career, Jagathy won numerous accolades, including five Kerala State Film Awards for Supporting Actor and Comedy roles, and is widely regarded as the benchmark for comedy acting in Malayalam cinema.

Though his career was cut short by a tragic car accident in 2012, his legacy as Malayalam cinema’s most beloved comedian lives on, with an unparalleled body of work that continues to entertain new generations.
