Marshall gained international attention for his title role in the 1982 television miniseries "Marco Polo." He is also widely recognized for starring as Prince Colwyn in the 1983 fantasy adventure film "Krull." On television, some of his notable roles include Lt. Commander Michael Eddington in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1994–1997), a character for which he received an OFTA Television Award nomination for best male actor. He appeared in other TV shows such as "Quantum Leap," "Empty Nest," "Baywatch," and "Hunter." His film credits include "Tilt" (1979), "The Skin" (1981), and "Feds" (1988), among others.
