Trevor Ambrose

Trevor Ambrose, ACE, CCE, is an award-winning Canadian film and television editor recognized as one of the top comedy editors working in the United States and the foremost comedy editor in Canada. He is best known for shaping the heart and timing of iconic series, including Schitt's Creek, The Miniature Wife (2026), Saturday Night Live, The Kids in the Hall, and Son of a Critch. Notably, Ambrose is the first and only Canadian to have ever won an ACE Eddie Award for Best Editing on a Comedy TV Series—a historic milestone achieved for his work on the series finale of Schitt's Creek, which also earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination. Early in his career, he served as music editor on films like Dog Park. Ambrose's diverse portfolio also includes the Warner Bros. hit feature 8-Bit Christmas, All I Didn't Want for Christmas starring Gabourey Sidibe, the critically acclaimed documentaries Killing Patient Zero and Stepping Razor: Red X (the Peter Tosh story), and the dark comedy Back in Black, starring Christopher Walken, where he served as both Picture Editor and Sound Designer. Trevor Ambrose is based in Toronto.
