Mohamed Majd, geboren 1940, stand Ende der 1950er Jahre erstmals auf der Bühne. Nach zehn Jahren am Theater wandte er sich dem Film zu und wirkte in Kurzfilmen von Abdelmajid R'chich mit, bevor er an der Seite von Anthony Quinn in dem Historienepos „Die Botschaft“ (1975) von Moustapha Akkad zu sehen war. Der renommierte marokkanische Schauspieler erlangte im Alter von 47 Jahren internationale Bekanntheit, als er von Casting Director Ahmed Boulane für eine Rolle neben John Hurt in Richard Strouds Film „Deadline“ und in Philippe de Brocas „Tausendundeine Nacht“ (1989) engagiert wurde.
